We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our regional controllership team supporting the Marketplace business across Southeast Asia. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting and accounting processes related to marketplace operations. The position also covers finance operations responsibilities under the marketplace scope, including managing settlement processes, resolving operational finance issues, and working with internal and external stakeholders. Close collaboration with finance business partners (FBPs), upstream system teams, and local operations is essential to deliver actionable insights and process excellence.


Responsibilities
• Oversee month-end close activities for marketplace accounting, ensuring timely and accurate revenue and cost recognition in line with accounting policies.
• Work closely with FBPs to analyze and validate key marketplace metrics
• Ensure accounting treatment aligns with business model (e.g. principal vs agent) and support the financial implication assessment for new business initiatives or campaigns.
• Partner with system/product teams to ensure proper data flow and reconciliation between business platforms and accounting systems
• Identify and resolve issues in reconciliation between operational data (e.g. order-level, seller reports) and accounting entries.
• Support finance operations in the marketplace scope, including seller settlement, billing, payment reconciliation, and resolving day-to-day operational finance issues and supervise BPO management
• Coordinate and align with local country teams to ensure smooth and consistent operational execution across markets.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation of financial and operational processes, including building control tools and improving workflow transparency.
• Collaborate with tax, compliance, and audit teams to ensure governance and proper documentation in place for financial transactions.
• Support internal and external audit requests relating to marketplace accounting.
• Provide training and guidance to local teams to strengthen accounting awareness and operational controls.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably with regional exposure or in e-commerce / platform business.
• Detail oriented and able to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Ability to work within tight timeframes, manage multiple priorities and demonstrate flexibility as priorities change.
• Fluent in English and Chinese. Other Southeast Asian language(s) is a plus.
• Familiarity with SAP is a plus.
